BC Hydro – Bear Mountain Terminal Substation Expansion for DCAT

This project was a 6 hectare expansion to the existing Bear Mountain Substation in Dawson Creek BC, serving both 138kV and 230kV voltages as part of BC Hydro’s DCAT (Dawson Creek/Chetwynd Area Transmission) Project.

Project scope of work included all clearing and grubbing, excavation to waste, cut and fill of native soil on site including moisture conditioning, site drainage, import of structural fill, duct banks, site roadways, perimeter fencing and gates, insulating gravel, drilled concrete piles and cast in place concrete pile caps and foundations, all steel superstructure for substation electrical, grounding, installation of control building supplied by others and complete substation electrical scopes of work (high voltage structures, high voltage equipment, bus and ducting, protection and control, grounding and miscellaneous electrical works).
