Thompson Creek Metals – Mt. Milligan Plant Site Earthworks

IDL’s role as Earthworks Contractor consisted of the construction of roads, building pads, and other mine infrastructure earthworks. Work included the installation of underground utilities consisting of HDPE potable water, HDPE fire water, HDPE fresh water, process water lines, underground power ducting and fiber optic ducting. 

IDL also completed the installations of the Mine Emergency Vehicle, Incinerator and Core Storage Buildings. The buildings were supplied by Thompson Creek Metals Company.  IDL completed detailed excavation and backfill, cast-in-place foundations and erected the buildings complete with all mechanical and electrical. The buildings work was started in February of 2012 which required extensive ground thawing and heating and hoarding of the foundations. Completion of the buildings works was in early April of 2012.
